Buying original art
FAQ — Buying an original painting
These are the questions I am most often asked before someone buys a painting: photos, framing, delivery, returns, prints and commissions. If something is not covered here, please write to me.
Can I see more photos of a painting before buying?
Yes — write to me and I'll send photos from any angle, in daylight and lamplight, plus close-up details. I want you to feel confident about the surface, colour and scale before you decide.
Are the paintings framed?
Each product page says whether the painting is framed or unframed. If the work is framed, the frame shown is part of how I present that piece unless we agree otherwise.
Can I buy a painting unframed?
Sometimes, but please contact me first. Not every painting can be removed from its frame safely, though most can be discussed if you strongly prefer to arrange your own framing.
How long does delivery take?
UK delivery is usually quite quick. I normally need around 3 days to prepare and pack the painting, and the delivery itself is often 1-2 days, though it can take longer depending on the region and courier.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Not at the moment. For now I only ship within the UK, because original paintings need careful packing and reliable delivery arrangements.
Do you make prints of your paintings?
I have not made prints yet, but I will probably introduce them in the near future. If there is a specific painting you would like as a print, write to me and I can keep your request in mind.
Can I return a painting?
Yes, you can send the painting back to me. I will issue a refund, excluding delivery costs, once I receive the painting back safely and in its original condition.
Do you take commissions?
Yes, I take a small number of commissions, mostly paintings of places, houses, streets and coastal views. You can read more about the process on my Commissions page.
