Festive Spirit

A window with warm red light, a corner of my own studio, and the dark outside. The fairy lights weren't actually there — but they kept asking to be in the painting, so in they went. Windows at night are a subject I return to again and again: ordinary views that turn out to be beautiful when you finally stop and look.
